Bangladesh: College teacher attacked

Dhaka, June 16 (IBNS): A college teacher was injured as he was hacked with sharp weapons by unknown attackers in Bangladesh's Madaripur town,media reports said.

Ripon Chakrabarty, a mathematics lecturer at Government Najimuddin College, is currently undergoing treatment at Barisal’s Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital with head and hand injuries,bdnews24.com reported.

The attack reportedly occurred at around 5 pm.

He stayed at a rented home close to the Government Najimuddin College.

Locals caught one of the attackers and handed him over to the police.

Sadar Model Police Station OC Ziaul Morshed identified him as Faizullah Fahin, 20, of Chapainawabganj, the website said.

He is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
