Bangladesh: Govt primary school briefly closed due to heat wave

| @indiablooms | Jun 06, 2023, at 12:05 am

Dhaka: The continuing heat wave will cause classroom activities in all government primary schools nationwide to be suspended for four days, according to a statement released on Sunday by Bangladesh's Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

The ministry highlighted that the choice was made with the children's health and safety in mind.

As the country reaches the height of summer, the heatwave has engulfed many areas of Bangladesh, including the capital Dhaka, driving temperatures to record highs.

If the heatwave persists, the authorities are anticipated to take additional preventative measures.
