Dhaka: The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit of Dhaka Metropolitan police arrested three suspected Neo-JMB members, media reports said.

The arrested people reportedly included a bomb maker named Zahid Hasan Raju alias Forkan.

The two other arrestees have been identified as Saiful Islam Maruf alias Basira and Rumman Hasan Fahad alias Abdullah, bdnews24 reported.

The suspected people were arrested during a raid in Kafrul area in Dhaka on Tuesday night.

They were found in possession of explosive substances, GI pipes, remote control devices, iron balls and mobile phones, the news portal reported.

“Forkan was the head trainer and bomb-maker of the militant group,” CTTC chief Md Asaduzzaman told bdnews24 at a media briefing on Wednesday.

“Forkan completed his honours in chemistry at Jahangirnagar University but did not complete his Masters. He joined Neo-JMB following contact with Amir Musa in 2016," Md Asaduzzaman said.

Police have filed a case against the three people.
