Bangladesh: Miles singer Shafin Ahmed to contest for DNCC mayor polls

Dhaka, Dec 26 (IBNS): Popular Bangladeshi singer Shafin Ahmed will contest in the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation mayor election.

Bobby Hajjaj, chairman of Nationalist Democratic Movement nominated him as the candidate for the poll on Tuesday.

The post became vacant after the death of former mayor Annisul Huq.

The Election Commission will declare the poll schedule next month.

The election is scheduled to be held in February next year.

Shafin is best known as the singer of Bangladeshi band “Miles”.
