Bangladesh records sixth COVID-19 death

Dhaka/IBNS: Bangladesh recorded its sixth COVID-19 infected death on Wednesday, media reports said.

The tally of infections also rose to 54 after three more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, Health Minister Zahid Malik was quoted as saying by bdnews24.

The Minister said 26 people have recovered and returned home.

“We are constantly trying to improve the quality of our healthcare services. In the meantime, we are working on setting up about 500 ventilators at government hospitals,” Zahid was quote as saying by bdnews24.

“Another 300 ventilators are being imported. There are about 700 ventilators across private hospitals,” he added.

He said Kurmitola General Hospital has been prepared for the treatment of coronavirus patients.

After originating from China, the COVID-19 infection has now reached different corners of world.
