Bangladesh: Suspected flight hijacker buried in Narayanganj

Dhaka, Feb 26 (IBNS): The Bangladeshi person, who allegedly tried to hijack a Biman’s BG-147 flight on Sunday in Chittagong, was buried in Narayanganj on Tuesday, media reports said.

The deceased person was identified as Polash Ahmed.

He was buried at Dudhghata Graveyard in Dudhghata, Sonargaon upazila around 9:45am,reported The Daily Star newspaper of Bangladesh.

Polash’s father Piyar Jahan Sarder, was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital to identify the body, Md Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Sonargaon Police Station told the news paper.

The body was later handed over to the family.

The deceased person allegedly attempted to hijack a Biman Bangladesh Airlines  in Chittagong's Shah Amanat International Airport.

The 148 passengers and crew members were safely evacuated from the flight after it made an emergency landing in Chittagong airport.

The suspected hijacker, who was identified as Polash Ahmed, was killed during a commando operation.
