Cox's Bazar: A group of miscreants allegedly killed a Rohingya youth at Kutupalong Camp in Ukhiya of Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar area on Monday.

The deceased person was identified as Ashiq Elahi, 22.

Ukhiya police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Mohammad Ali told Dhaka Tribune that Ashiq Elahi is the son of Shahidul Haque of C Block of Camp No 11.

In the morning, a group of masked miscreants escaped leaving the Rohingya youth with hands and feet tied.

He was rescued and taken to the hospital run by Kutupalong NGO MSF, where the doctor on duty declared him dead, the Bangladesh-based news paper reported.

The cause behind the attack is still not known.
