London, Apr 22 (IBNS): US President Barack Obama arrived in the UK for his three-day visit to the nation on Thursday, media reports said.

"Mr Obama arrived at Stansted Airport late on Thursday and was greeted by the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, John Petre, and the US Ambassador to the UK, Matthew Barzun," BBC reported.

During the visit, he will meet Prime Minister David Cameron.

Duke Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton  will host President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama for dinner at their palace residence on Friday, officials said.

William's brother Prince Harry will also join the dinner.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry will host President and Mrs Obama for dinner on Friday at Kensington Palace," the official Twitter page of the Kensington Palace tweeted.

"Their Royal Highnesses are very much looking forward to welcoming the President and First Lady to the Palace," he said.

William and Kate had met Obama during their three-day visit to the US in 2014.
