Calgary, Dec 8 (IBNS): After a video was posted on social media about a man riding a scooter down the Deerfoot trail in the midst of a snow storm because he could not afford a safer vehicle, he has received a car as a gift from autodealership AutoMaxx Calgary.

General Manager of  AutoMaxx Calgary, Chris Thin, said they gifted the 2010 Dodge Charger SXT  all-wheel drive because of the compelling story of this person and so that he can ride safely through the inclement weather.

The man is a labourer working in Stuart Olsen .

He supports his mother and two nieces and his neighbour, Heater Wald, said this could not happened to any better person.

"They just don't have the funds to make ends meet," said Wald.

Wald had floated a 'GO FUND ME' page to help him get a reliable vehicle with some winter tires and to pay for the insurance.

Ever since his video of scooter ride on highway in stormy winter became viral, people have donated $3,200 with a target of $15,000.
