Canada: Explosion takes place in north Edmonton garage, two people hospitalised

Edmonton, Feb 23 (IBNS): Two people were hospitalised after an explosion took place in north Edmonton garage on Friday evening, media reports said.

The firefighters responded to a house at 5:45 as per Canadian time.

The condition of the two people, who were hospitalised, is not known.

Upon arriving, the crews found the garage completely collapsed.

Kyle Watkins, a person who lives near the garage, told CTV News, "We were sitting in the house … and felt a big bang."

“Thought something had fallen off the wall upstairs. Our fireplace had come off the wall, there was glass everywhere and we figured that wasn’t heavy enough to make the bang that it did, and came outside and seen all the rubble everywhere … and then found out one of the garages had blown up," Watkins has been quoted by CTV News.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) is trying to find out the cause of the fire.
