Canada: Natural gas restored in northwestern Alberta, Mackenzie County out of emergency state

Mackenzie/Edmonton, Jan 5 (IBNS): Natural gas supply has been restored in the northwestern Alberta with the rise in temperature as the state of emergency has been lifted from Mackenzie County, media reports said.

On Thursday, the temperature increased to -15 degree in the northwestern part of the province.

The emergency was declared on last Friday as the province was running in shortage of natural gas.

Peter Braun, the County's revee told CBC News: "Yes, the alert is over right now and we are being told right now by the supplier that we do have sufficient gas."

A state of emergency was issued on Friday by Environment Canada, according to Global News.

The temperature even went down to as much as around -38 degree at some point with a feel like -48 degree.

In an official statement issued on Tuesday , the Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) said the condition will remain similar for several more days.
