Canada PM Justin Trudeau congratulates Brian Bowman for winning Winnipeg mayoral election

Ottawa, Oct 26 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has congratulated Progressive Conservative (PC) leader Brian Bowman for winning Winnipeg's mayoral election for the second term.

Trudeau, who belongs to the Liberal Party, tweeted, "Congratulations on your re-election @Mayor_Bowman - I know you’re determined to keep working for Winnipeggers and keep the city strong & growing, and I look forward to working with you again."

Bowman has secured 53.3% of the total votes.

Jenny Motkaluk, who came second in the elections, got 35.7% of the total votes.

Following his win, Bowman said as he has been quoted by CTV News, "I'm not going to apologize for listening to Winnipegers and they spoke today pretty clearly."
