Canadian PM Trudeau to receive global citizenship award in New York

Ottawa, Sep 19 (IBNS): Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, will receive an award for global citizenship in New York on Tuesday, media reports said.

The Canadian PM will be on a three-day visit to New York for attending the annual United Nations General Assembly.

Trudeau will be honoured by the Atlantic Council think thank for supporting international trade and diversity.

The prime minister will be introduced at the annual UN General Assembly by Queen Rania of Jordan.

Trudeau will give a speech at Madison Square Garden while addressing a crowd on Wednesday.

After addressing the crowd at Madison Square Garden, he will attend an event on development with American philanthropist and former Microsoft employee Melinda Gates and later a business forum at Bloomberg News.

The PM will address a speech at the General Assembly on Thursday.
