Chelsea Manning freed from military prison

Kansas, May 17 (IBNS): US soldier Chelsea Manning was freed from the military prison after serving seven years, according to BBC News on Wednesday.

According to media reports,  the soldier was detained for leaking classified documents to the Wikileaks.

Manning had left the Fort Leavenworth military prison in Kansas on Wednesday, where  the soldier was imprisoned for last seven years.

The term of imprisonment was reduced by the former president of United States Barrack Obama to seven years from previous 35.

After the release, Chelsea Manning uploaded a picture of his first step on twitter, calling it as "First steps of freedom".

Earlier after the imprisonment, Manning said that she felt like a woman ever since childhood and wanted to live her life as a woman with the name of Chelsea.
