Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic visits Afghanistan, meets Ashraf Ghani

Kabul, Aug 27 (IBNS): Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani met his Croatian counterpart Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic as she visited the South Asian nation on Sunday.

The two leaders discussed wide-ranging issues which included bilateral cooperation and trade opportunities.

A tweet read on the Office of the President of Afghanistan page: "Pres@AshrafGhani received Croatian President Kolinda Kitarović this morning at Gulkhana Palace. Both sides discussed bilateral cooperation, trade opportunities, Afghan led & owned peace process, ceasefire, Counter-terrorism and upcoming elections."

Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic also met Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, here.

Abdullah tweeted: "I met HE Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović @KolindaGK, President of Croatia. We discussed bilateral relations, security & political developments & ways of mutual cooperation & fighting terrorism. I thanked the President & the people of Croatia for their relentless support for Afghanistan."
