Denver: Sex racket busted, baby and child among scores of minors rescued

Denver, Oct 19 (IBNS): A three-month old infant and a five-year-old child were among the scores of under-aged children rescued following a nation wide crackdown on sex racket in the United States, reports said.

According to the FBI, the domestic intelligence and security service of the US, at least 84 minors were recovered and 120 traffickers were arrested during the course of the crackdown.

In a press conference on Wednesday, FBI officials said that part of the investigating members posed as both customer sex buyer and trafficker, in order to get close to the actual offenders.

However, they haven't detailed for how long the investigations were on.

Citing a case, an official said that a man offered them $600 to have sex with two underage children.

Later, he was apprehended.

One among the 84 victims who were rescued, is a Russian, who the FBI agents met in Denver, the capital city of Colarado state.

At least 17 children alone were rescued in Colarado.

George Brauchler, a local official and the district attorney of Arapahoe county, said, "It’s not just that someone is willing to sell someone, it’s that there are buyers out there who are willing to engage in this."

The investigation was dubbed "Operation Cross Country" and targeted places such as street corners, casinos and hotels.

Following the success, FBI agent Todd Pooler said this is just the beginning.

Warning future offenders, he said, "If you are a sexual predator or are sexually exploiting children, the FBI and law enforcement partners will find you, you can count on it."
