Dhaka Holey Artisan Bakery attack: 1 arrested

Dhaka, July 28 (IBNS): Bangladesh police have claimed to arrest a “Neo JMB” leader who was involved in the Holey Artisan Bakery attack last year, media reports said.

Abu Jara alias Rash reportedly carried arms and grenades used in the July 1, 2016 attack in the bakery.

He has been arrested from  Singra upazila of Natore in the country, reports said.

Arrestee Abu Jara alias Rash, one of the key planners of the militant attack, had carried arms and grenades from Chapainawabganj to Dhaka for the attack, Asaduzzaman, superintendent of police in Bogra, reported The Daily Star.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of detective branch (DB) of police from Bogra arrested the JMB leader in Singra bus stand area around 5:30am, Bogra Additional Superintendent of Police Sanatan Chakrabarty was quoted as saying by the news paper

At least 20 people, including foreigners, were killed in the terrorist attack in the Holey Artisan Bakery here last year.
