Early trends show Ireland voters back same-sex marriage

Dublin, May 23 (IBNS) In a significant development, early trends have indicated that people of Ireland have voted in favour of same-sex marriage, media reports said.

Counting of votes in connection with the referendum on the issue is currently underway.

"Ireland is on course to approve the amendment on same-sex marriage with a strong Yes vote reported around the country," The Irish Times reported.

David Quinn, who  is an Irish religious commentator, tweeted: "Congratulations to the Yes side. Well done. #MarRef."
