Local Khaama Press quoted officials as saying that  the men were sentenced to death by all courts after they were found guilty of kidnapping in western Herat province of Afghanistan.
The directorate overlooking the prisons and detention centers in the ministry of interior issued a statement today confirming the execution of the five prisoners.
The statement further added that the men were hanged to death earlier this morning after their death pentalty orders were approved by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
The directorate also added that the men were also found guilty of murder besides committing kidnappings in western Herat province of Afghanistan.
The latest executions take place as kidnapping cases and other criminal incidents are rampant in key parts of the country as well as the cities, including Kabul and Herat.
The execution of the five prisoners in Pul-e-Charkhi prison takes place after almost three years when one of the prominent gang leaders of the kidnappers Habib Istalif was hanged to death over similar charges.
