Berlin, Apr 20 (IBNS): Germany's capital city Berlin is set to undergo a large scale evacuation as a World War 2 bomb was discovered in the area, reports said.

The bomb was found on Wednesday in a construction site in Heidestrasse.

According to police, the 500 kg British bomb presents no immediate danger.

The evacuation will start from 09:00 and will cover a radius of 800m from the construction site.

The AFP news agency quoted police as saying that among the building to be evacuated are Berlin Hauptbahnhof, the central railway station, the transport and economy ministries and the embassies of Uzbekistan and Indonesia.

Though flight services will resume as normal, train services are expected to be disrupted.
