Jamaat–e–Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir members arrested

Dhaka/IBNS: Police have arrested 16 members of Jamaat–e–Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir from Charmohanpur area of Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila, media reports said.

According to reports,  cocktails and gunpowder were recovered from them.

Chapainawabganj Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziaur Rahman told Dhaka Tribune "On information, the Jamaat-Shibir men were arrested while holding a clandestine meeting in an orchard in the area around 7am."

"They were arrested with fifteen cocktails and half kilograms of gunpowder," he said.

A case has been filed against them under the Explosive Substances Act with Chapainawabganj Sadar Model police station, the OC told the newspaper.
