Larkana: Riaz Ali Chandio, the chairman of his own faction of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz (JSM), has announced the party would protest on Saturday in Larkana division’s districts against the enforced disappearances and price hike while Sindh-wide demonstration on Feb 12 against extrajudicial killings, media reports said.

Speaking at a news conference here on Thursday, he was quoted as saying by Dawn News that Majid Hyderi, son of JSM-R general secretary Abid Hussain Hyderi, was picked up on Feb 4 in Karachi from Gulistan-i-Jauhar area, and since then his whereabouts remained unknown.

He said the Feb 11 protest would be for the release of Hyderi and other enforced disappearances.

He observed that courts remained silent over the cases of enforced disappearances, adding that while terrorists went unpunished, the nationalist parties’ workers were facing action for their peaceful struggle.

Either they were killed or rendered physically disabled through inhuman torture, he said, adding that in some cases, they were even burnt alive.

He said activist Sohail Bhatti from Qambar-Shahdadkot remained missing for the past seven years, Ayun Kandhro for four years, and Imran Jokhio for 14 years.

He said that agencies did not take any action against illegal immigrants, including Burmese and Afghans, but GM Syed’s followers were punished.
