London: King Charles will resume public appearances next week following encouraging progress in his cancer therapy, Buckingham Palace said on Friday.

Although he won't fully resume official duties just yet, the palace has been optimistic.

The King has been absent from his customary royal public engagements since undergoing a procedure for an enlarged prostate and his cancer diagnosis in February.

The King's itinerary kicks off next Tuesday with a symbolic visit to a cancer treatment facility.

His upcoming schedule includes hosting the Emperor and Empress of Japan during a state visit, with additional external engagements planned in the near future, according to the palace's statement.

The King is reportedly being "greatly encouraged" to return to public engagements.

Buckingham Palace provided this update on his reentry into public-facing duties and his health status in a statement issued on Friday.

"It is too early to say" for how much longer his treatment will continue, the palace said.

It added that doctors were "very encouraged by the progress made so far and remain positive about the King's continued recovery".

The King is reportedly feeling "greatly encouraged" about returning to public engagements. Buckingham Palace provided this update on his reentry into public-facing duties and his health status in a statement issued on Friday.

It's still unclear whether he will participate in major events on the calendar, such as Trooping the Colour, the D-Day commemorations, summer garden parties, Royal Ascot, and autumn overseas trips.

The palace stated that decisions will be made when the events are close, based on medical advice.
