Knife attack at Germany's Hamburg railway station leaves 12 injured

Berlin/IBNS: At least 12 people were injured in a knife attack in Germany's Hamburg station on Friday evening, the country's Bild newspaper reported.

The suspected assailant has been arrested, the local police said in a post on X..

Three victims are in critical condition, three others are seriously injured, and six people sustained minor injuries, Bild reported.

The motive of the attack is unclear so far.

In a post on X, Hamburg police said a person was reported to have injured several people with a knife at the station.

The incident occurred on the platform between tracks 13 and 14 at approximately 6 p.m. local time, said reports.

Emergency services responded promptly, treating some victims on-site, including aboard trains.
