Malala Yousafzai attackers arrested: Pakistan Army

Islamabad, Sept 12 (IBNS): Pakistan military on Friday said security forces have arrested ten militants who attempted to kill activist Malala Yousafzai in 2012.

Yousafzai was shot by the Taliban for promoting education for girls in 2012.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Asim Bajwa tweeted: "#ZarbeAzb : Entire Gang of 10 x terrorists involved in attempt to kill #Malala, in #Swat busted & apprehended by Security forces."

She is known for her activism for rights to education and for women, especially in the Swat Valley, where theTaliban had at times banned girls from attending school.

She has received several international awards.
