New Zealand: 7.1 earthquake hits nation, no casualty
Wellington, Sept 2 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter Scale hit east coast of New Zealand on Friday.
The quake reportedly generated a small tsunami.
No casualty has been reported so far.
Several aftershocks have been recorded following the 7.1 quake.
The epicentre of the 7.1 quake was located at latitude 37.401 degrees south and longitutde 179.055 degrees east and at a depth of 19 kms.
