One killed in overnight shootings near Toronto

Toronto, Oct. 23 (IBNS) Overnight shootings in Mississauga in Toronto's west end claimed one life and left two injured, including one critically, said police on Saturday.

Peel Regional Police said they are investigating the killing on Saturday and trying to ascertain if the two shootings in the region, including the fatal one, are connected.

Police tweeted: "2 parties that were earlier transported to hospital injuries not life threatening for one, other party still in serious condition."

"Still investigating if those two parties are involved with the incident at Queen Street and Church Street in #Mississauga," Peel Regional Police tweeted.

Reports said the incidents occurred since 1:40 am.

"Roads in area of shooting still closed. Homicide investigating," police tweeted.
