Ontario reports new record high Covid cases with 4,736 fresh infections, 29 more deaths

Ontario/IBNS: A new record high of 4,736 cases of COVID-19 and 29 more deaths were reported in Ontario on Thursday.

There is also a new record high seven-day average of up to 4,208 cases per day or 202 weekly per 100,000, and 20.7 deaths daily.

On the other hand, 65,559 completed tests, also a high for Thursday, were reported by the labs with 8 per cent positivity.

Of the 4,736 cases of COVID-19, there are 1,188 new cases in Toronto, 983 in Peel, 526 in York Region, 342 in Ottawa, 216 in Durham, and 215 in Niagara.

As of 7 p.m. Wednesday, 3,528,404 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.

On top of these stark figures, Ontario learned that another shipment of 448,400 doses COVID-19 vaccines from Moderna scheduled to arrive next week have been delayed till the 3rd of May.
