Pak court accepts govt's request for in-camera hearing of Lakhvi
Islamabad, Jan 12 (IBNS): The Islamabad High Court on Monday accepted the Pakistan government's application for an in-camera hearing of the detention of 26/11 mastermind and top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Zakir-ur Rehman Lakhvi, media reports said.
This implies that the court's proceedings will not be made public and available to media.
Earlier, Lakhvi, who had been in jail since 2009, was granted bail by an anti-terror court on December 18 but was rearrested.
His counsel had appealed against his detention in the High Court, which held it invalid.
The country’s Apex court had also over-ruled a recent high court verdict suspending Lakhvi’s detention after he was granted bail in December last year.
The Pakistan government had challenged the high court order in the Supreme Court, reports said.
