Pakistan approves motion to make Mandarin an official language

Islamabad, Feb 20 (IBNS): Ina major development, the Pakistani Senate has approved a motion to declare Mandarin as one of the official languages in the country, media reports said.

The motion was approved on Monday.

As per a report published by AbbTakk News, it read  in second resolution, the house recommend in view of the growing collaboration between Pakistan and China under CPEC, courses of the official Chinese Language should be launched for all current and prospective Pakistani CPEC Human resources in order to overcome any costly communication barrier.

According to the news report,  the Pakistan Senate’s move come at a time when diplomatic ties between Beijing and Islamabad are strong – often to India’s detriment.
