Pakistan: Child labour dies after falling into a burning furnace while working in a kiln

A 14-year-old Pakistani child worker died after he fell into a burning furnace while working in a kiln, media reports said.

Witnesses told The Express Tribune that Ali Hasan, who was performing his usual duties, lost balance and slipped into the fire.

Despite rescue efforts, the minor died due to his injuries.

According to reports, the child was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Following legal formalities, his body was handed over to the family members.

Police have initiated an inquiry into the incident.

Social activists have expressed their anger over the incident.
