Lahore, Mar 15 (IBNS) Twin blasts rocked the Roman Catholic Church and Christ Church at Lahore's Youhanabad area in Pakistan which left at least 15 people dead and 70 others injured on Sunday, media reports said.

The attacks occurred during Sunday mass and large number of people were present in the churches, reports said.

Eye witnesses told Geo News that a man blew himself up outside one of the churches as a police guard stopped him from entering, while the other blast took place inside the church during Sunday mass.

TTP splinter group Jamatul Ahrar reportedly claimed that responsibility for the attack.

According to reports, the enraged mob has burnt alive two suspected persons who were caught from the venue of the attack.

"Two suspected men were caught from the venue but the enraged mob burnt them alive after subjecting them to severe torture in the presence of police," Geo News reported.

The injured people were rushed to Lahore's General Hospital for treatment.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has condemned the attacks.

Condemning the attacks, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan tweeted: "Strongly condemn terror blasts outside church in Lahore. Shameful how no govt protection was provided for the church."
