Muzaffarabad: Demonstrations were organized in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir’s (POK) Bagh and Hajira on Friday to mark Bangladesh's War of Independence, media reports said.

Bangladesh's War of Independence led to the formation of a new nation.

The protesters compared the situation of then East Pakistan with the present situation of the POK under the Punjabi Pakistani regime. Slogans were raised against Islamabad with fresh calls of ‘haquqi azadi’ (true freedom) from Islamabad, reports ANI.

This is the first time such a protest occurred in PoK.

In India, the day is observed as 'Vijay Diws'.

Vijay Diwas marks the military victory of Indian soldiers over their Pakistani counterparts during the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971.
