Pakistan: Man arrested for allegedly raping 80-year-old woman

TobaTek Singh, Pakistan/IBNS: Police in Pakistan have arrested a man for allegedly raping an 80-year-old woman in Toba Tek Singh region.

In the first information report (FIR), the complainant, the widow of Laal Muhammad of village Khokharanwali, informed the Kamalia Saddar police that she had been asleep at her house when the suspect, a resident of village Chah Rajaywali, had broke into her house at midnight, reports Dawn News.

The suspect allegedly overpowered her, tied her with a rope around her neck and raped her, the newspaper reported.

Police shifted the victim to Kamalia Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for a medical examination.

Police officials said they have arrested the suspect.
