Karachi, Nov 21 (IBNS): A Mirage training jet of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed on the outskirts of Pakistan's Karachi city, media reports said.

The mishap occurred when it was on a training flight.

Sources in the Civil Aviation Authority told DawnNews that one of the two pilots flying the jet, which had taken off from Masrur airbase, was identified as Squadron Leader Tanveer.

"The PAF, however, have so far not confirmed any details regarding the identity or condition of two pilots on board the aircraft," Dawn News reported.

“Locals told police that the aircraft appeared to have caught fire in the air before it crashed with an explosion,” SSP Rao Anwar told DawnNews.

PAF helicopters have reached the spot where the mishap occurred.
