Peshawar, Jan 12 (IBNS): Less than a month after militants had killed at least 150 people ,including 136 children, the e Army Public School (APS) reopened with students attired in their uniforms returning to their classrooms on Monday.

Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif  visited the school and met the students  and their parents here.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) spokesperson Asim Bajwa tweeted: "

Army #Chief Gen #Raheel Sharif in APS Psr right now.Receives students, meets parents.Everyone in high spirits. This nation unbeatable.Cont."
"Psr:Begum & Gen #Raheel join students in mrng assembly.Lab pe aati ha dua-solidifies our soul. Standing proudly to sing national anthem," he said.

PTI chief Imran Khan said he will soon visit the school which was ravaged by militants on Dec 16.

Khan tweeted: "Planned to be with our brave children who returned to APS today along with Reham & CM KP, but we were advised to postpone visit as COAS was going today for what we were told was a "soft" opening of the APS. But we will be there with our brave children this week."

The violence carried out by seven Taliban militants had put a spotlight on whether the country can end the stubborn insurgency that kills thousands every year.
