Pakistan: Two cops die during attack on check-post

Dera Murad Jamali, Pakistan: Two policemen died during an attack on a police check-post in the Dera Allahyar area of Jaffarabad district of Pakistan on Sunday, media reports said on Tuesday.

Sources told Dawn News armed motorcyclists used automatic weapons in the assault on the Mandrani police check-post, resulting in the martyrdom of Head Constable Moor Khan Behrani and Constable Babul Khan Kanrani.

The attackers also took away their official AK-47 rifles. Police officials and personnel of other security forces on receiving the information rushed to the site and shifted the bodies to the district hospital of Dera Allahyar.

“The victims received multiple bullet wounds, which caused their instant death,” hospital sources told Dawn News.

Police launched a search operation following the attack.
