Pakistan's Jamaat-e-Islami celebrates withdrawal of US troop from Afghanistan

Islamabad:  Pakistan's Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chairman Siraj-ul Haq has announced to celebrate the withdrawal of US troops in Afghanistan, media reports said.

Siraj-ul Haq said that after the withdrawal of US and NATO forces from Afghanistan, the responsibilities of the Afghan Taliban have increased as the country has turned into a dilapidated structure after a long war, ANI reported quoting a news report published in  Daily Asas.

On Friday, millions of Muslims in masjid and madrassas across the country will celebrate at the request of Amir Jamaat-e-Islami.

Taliban co-founder Mullah Baradar will lead a new Afghan government that will be announced soon, sources in the fighter group said, as reported by the media.

Reuters reported that Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, the son of late Taliban founder Mullah Omar, and Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, will be in senior positions in the government.

As the last US military flight carrying troops left the Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKIA) in Kabul, the United States completed the withdrawal of its forces from Afghanistan, ending a two-decade-long war ignominiously, with the Islamist Taliban in full control.

The last three US military evacuation flights departed HKIA just ahead of the August 31 deadline. The last one, a C-17 Globemaster transport plane, took off from the Kabul airport at 3:29 pm. East Coast Time, Russia Today (RT) reported quoting General Kenneth McKenzie, head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
