Dhaka, July 3 (IBNS): Relatives and friends of the victims of the Dhaka cafe attack and others paid tribute to the people, who were killed in the incident, at the entrance of Road 79 in Gulshan on Sunday.

Throughout the morning, amid a drizzle, people placed flowers at the barricade that barred the way to Holey Artisan Bakery where 20 hostages were killed Friday, reports Prothom Alo news paper of the country.

Akku Chowdhury, a freedom fighter in 1971, was quoted as saying by the news paper after offering his tribute, “I don’t know what to say. It seems as if we have gone back to the days of 1971.”

The Bangladeshi Army on Saturday said that 20 people were killed by heavily armed terrorists after being taken hostage at a restaurant in the capital city Dhaka on Friday evening.

The people were kept hostage for nearly 10 hours in Dhaka's upscale restaurant Gulshan. The stand-off between Army and terrorists came to a end on Saturday morning.

The operation left six terrorists killed as well.

An Indian girl, who was taken hostage in the restaurant, also died in the terror attack in Dhaka, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj confirmed.
