London, July 22 (IBNS): Prince George is celebrating his first birthday on Tuesday.

Two pictures of  Prince George have been released by the British Monarchy on the occasion of his birthday.

In the first picture he is seen watching butterflies while in the other one he  is seen along with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as they look at an object above their heads.

" The Duke and Duchess are expected to hold a birthday party for the young prince on Tuesday at their Kensington Palace apartment," BBC reported.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton, gave birth to Prince George  at a London hospital on July 22 last year.

The child is third in line to the British throne.

Prince William had married Kate in 2011 after a long courtship.
