Sher Bahadur Deuba takes oath as Nepal PM

Kathmandu, June 7 (IBNS): Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday took oath as the Prime Minister of Nepal.

The senior Congress leader took the oath of office and secrecy from President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas here.

Apart from the Prime Minister, President Bhandari also administered the oath of office and secrecy to Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers of the Himalayan nation.

Deuba succeeded Pushpa Kamal Dahal to the post of the PM.

This is Deuba's fourth stint as the Prime Minister of Nepal.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday, congratulated the veteran leader.

He said, "Called Shri Sher Bahadur Deuba to congratulate him on being elected the Prime Minister of Nepal."

"I conveyed my best wishes to Shri Deuba for peace, prosperity and progress in Nepal under his leadership", the Prime Minister said.
