Suicide bombing kills 28 in Turkey

Suruc, July 20 (IBNS) At least 28 people were killed in a suicide attack in the Turkish town of Suruc on Monday, media reports said.

The attack, which is suspected to have been carried out by militant group IS, left 100 others injured, reports said.

"The blast targeted a group of young people who planned to travel to Kobane to assist with rebuilding. Kobane has seen heavy fighting between Islamic State militants and Kurdish fighters," BBC reported.

The district governor of Suruc, Abdullah Ciftci told  BBC Turkish: "Preliminary findings show that she was acting on her own."

He said the suspected attacker was a woman.
