Suspected terrorists attacked a police post in Pakistan's Turbat area on Saturday and set it on fire, an incident showcasing the spike in terrorism incidents in recent years.

The militants riding motorcycles reached the police check post on the outskirts of Turbat city and carried out the attack, reported Dawn News.

The attackers reportedly took the policemen, who were present at the checkpost, as hostage.

The attackers set the checkpost on fire after seizing weapons, radios and other equipment from the police officers.

“The check post was completely gutted,” police officials told Dawn News.

Police and Frontier Corps personnel rushed to the spot but the attackers had fled the spot by that time.

No casualties were reported in the incident.
