Taliban attack leaves eight killed in Afghanistan

Kabul, June 30 (IBNS): At least eight people were killed in a Taliban attack incident in Maroof district compound in the southern province of Afghanistan's Kandahar, media reports said on Sunday.

Provincial police chief Gen. Tadeen Khan told Tolo News that four Humvees full of explosives were detonated by Taliban suicide bombers during the attack. 

Those who were killed in the attack were employees of the provincial office of the Independent Election Commission, the head of the commission’s office in the province Hashim Durrani told the Afghanistan-based news portal.

They were reportedly working for voter registration process.
