The violence against Hindus in Bangladesh is horrific: Dutch politician Geert Wilders

Dutch politician Geert Wilders has described the ongoing violence against Hindu community members in Bangladesh as 'horrific'.

He said the violence against Hindu minority group members in the country should stop immediately.

"The violence against Hindus in Bangladesh is horrific. They are being killed and their houses and temples burnt by barbaric Islamic mobs. This must be stopped immediately!" the Dutch politician posted on X.

A political vacuum was created in Bangladesh after former PM Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled to India on Monday.

She quit amid violent protests against her government for the past several weeks which initially started with students agitating against job quotas in the country that was formed in 1971.

The protest soon spiralled into a massive demonstration against the Awami League-led government.

During the protests and following the exit of Hasina, reports have emerged from Bangladesh which said several Hindu houses and temples were targeted by radicals.

Several videos went viral on the internet where Hindu houses and temples were seen burned down by attackers.

An interim government took oath on Thursday.
