Jerusalem/UNI: A knife-wielding Palestinian teenager stabbed and seriously wounded three people in a shopping mall in Israel on Sunday before he was shot dead by police officers, said the Israeli police in a statement.

The three men, aged 25, 20 and 17, respectively, were seriously injured after being stabbed in Gan Yavne, south of Tel Aviv, and had been rushed to a hospital, Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service said in a statement.

The attacker, identified as a 19-year-old boy from the city of Dura in the occupied West Bank, was shot dead by the municipal police forces, according to the police.

The police said they were investigating the incident as "a terror attack."
