Toronto/IBNS: The city of Toronto has been named for the seventh time one of Canada’s best diversity employers for 2023, a news release has said.

Organized by Mediacorp Canada Inc, Canada's largest Toronto-based publisher of employment periodicals, this competition is in recognition of its diverse workplace, its inclusive and equitable culture, including programs for women, equity-deserving groups, people with disabilities, Indigenous Peoples, and 2SLGBTQ+ individuals.

After reviewing diversity and inclusion initiatives from applicants for Canada’s Top 100 Employers national competition, Mediacorp editors determined this year’s winners.

A shortlist compiled with the candidates’ programs was compared to those of other employers in the same field and the finalists were announced by a special Globe and Mail magazine.

“I’m pleased that the Toronto Public Service exemplifies the values of our City’s motto – ‘Diversity Our Strength’…that our workforce reflects Toronto’s many diverse communities so we can better serve residents,” Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie (Scarborough-Rouge Park) has said in the news release.

Founded in 1992, Mediacorp Canada Inc.,has been managing the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project including 18 regional and special-interest editorial competitions.
