Trump's executive order: Refugees detained at US airports, protesters demonstrate

| | Jan 29, 2017, at 01:38 pm
Washington, Jan 29 (IBNS): With US President Donald Trump issuing an order barring migrants and refugees from several Muslim countries, several refugees arriving in the nation have been held up at airports across the country, media reports said.

Protesters assembled at various airports in the nation to demonstrate against the President's order.

"A large crowd massed at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York to protest the detention of two Iraqis who were later released," CNN reported.

Reacting on the developments, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted: "What's happening at JFK is shameful. @NYCImmigrants Affairs Commissioner Nisha Agarwal is on the ground now working to help."
