TV journalist shot dead by unknown gunmen in Afghanistan

Kabul, Apr 25 (IBNS): A TV journalist was shot dead by unknown attackers in Afghanistan's  Kandahar province on Wednesday, media reports said.

The deceased has been identified as Abdul Manan Arghand.

Abdul Manan Arghand was killed by unknown motorcyclists at about 9am in Yarana Market of Kandahar City, a relative of the victim told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The journalist died on spot.

The gunmen reportedly fled from the area after attacking the journalist.

The Afghanistan journalist is survived by spouse and three children.

New York Times correspondent Mujib Mashal tweeted: "Kandahar journalist Abdul Manan Arghand, who reported for Kabul News, shot dead this morning on his way to work."
