Kabul: At least two commuters were killed, and eight others injured in a road accident in Afghanistan's eastern Wardak province, provincial police spokesman Qari Mohammad Yusuf Asrar said on Saturday.

The accident occurred in Behsod district of Wardak province on Friday afternoon when a mini-bus overturned due to reckless driving, Asrar said.

All the injured including women and children have been taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

In a similar road accident, six travelers died and nine others including women and children were badly injured in the eastern Kapisa province on Wednesday.

Ramshackle roads, reckless driving on congested roads, and lack of safety measures during travel are mostly blamed for deadly road accidents in mountainous and war-ravaged Afghanistan.
